Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • ½ cup salted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Mix-ins

  • ¾ cup red & green M&M’s
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup crushed pretzels
  • ½ cup crushed potato chips
  • ¼ cup holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cookies.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, ensuring a smooth base for the cookie dough.
  3. Add Egg Yolks and Vanilla: Incorporate the egg yolks and vanilla extract into the creamed butter and sugars, mixing well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  5. Fold in Mix-ins: Gently fold in the red and green M&M’s, white chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, crushed potato chips, and holiday sprinkles until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Scoop and Bake: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop portions of the dough onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the center remains soft.
  7. Cool Cookies: Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can substitute salted butter with unsalted butter; just add a pinch more salt to the dough.
  • Be careful not to overmix after adding flour to maintain tender cookies.
  • Mix-ins can be customized according to your preference – try adding nuts or different candies.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
  • Use crushed potato chips and pretzels for a delightful sweet and salty contrast.
