Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 3 pieces Chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  • 34 teaspoons Garlic and herb seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Pasta and Sauce

  • 1 pound Pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce (about 15 oz)

Bread Bowls

  • 6 pieces Kaiser rolls (or more if needed)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 34 teaspoons Garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Shredded parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Season and Cook Chicken: Season the chicken cubes with garlic and herb seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes until fully cooked and lightly browned.
  2. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, then drain thoroughly.
  3. Prepare Bread Bowls: Slice the tops off the Kaiser rolls and carefully hollow out the soft interior to create bowls without breaking the crust.
  4. Garlic Butter Brush: Mix the melted butter with garlic and herb seasoning. Brush the inside and edges of the bread bowls generously with this garlic butter mixture.
  5. Toast Bread Bowls: Place the brushed bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 4-5 minutes or until lightly toasted and fragrant.
  6. Combine Chicken, Pasta, and Alfredo: Add the cooked pasta and Alfredo sauce to the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir thoroughly to coat the pasta and chicken evenly with sauce.
  7. Fill Bread Bowls: Spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture into the toasted bread bowls, filling them generously. Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese over the top of each filled bowl.
  8. Bake to Melt Cheese: Return the filled bread bowls to the oven and bake for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy on the edges.
  9. Serve: Remove from oven and serve hot. Garnish optionally with chopped parsley or a pinch of red pepper flakes for added color and flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic and herbs if you prefer a stronger flavor in the butter mixture.
  • Choose a sturdy bread like Kaiser rolls to hold the filling without becoming soggy.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half or milk for traditional Alfredo sauce, or use a low-fat Alfredo sauce.
  • Leftover bread bowls can be stored in an airtight container and crisped up again in the oven before serving.
  • Ensure the chicken is fully cooked to avoid any risk of foodborne illness.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like steamed broccoli or spinach to the Alfredo mixture for added nutrition and color.
