Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.13 ounce unsweetened black cherry Kool-Aid mix
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed (plus 1 cup extra for optional garnish)

Crust

  • 6 ounces pre-made graham cracker crust

Garnish

  • 8 maraschino cherries with stems

Instructions

  1. Beat Cream Cheese: Using a medium-sized mixing bowl and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, beat the softened cream cheese for 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and continue mixing for 1 more minute, ensuring it is completely combined with the cream cheese for a smooth base.
  3. Incorporate Kool-Aid Mix: Sprinkle the unsweetened black cherry Kool-Aid mix into the mixture and mix until the color is uniform, giving the filling a bright cherry flavor and color.
  4. Fold in Cool Whip: Add the thawed Cool Whip and mix on low speed until the pie filling is well incorporated and fluffy.
  5. Spread Filling Into Crust: Evenly spread the prepared pie filling into the pre-made graham cracker crust. Cover the pie and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours to allow it to set properly.
  6. Slice and Garnish: Once the pie is chilled and firm, slice it into 8 equal pieces. Use a decorator’s bag or a quart-size Ziploc with a corner snipped off to pipe the extra Cool Whip in swirls around the edge of each slice.
  7. Add Cherries: Place one maraschino cherry with stem on top of each Cool Whip swirl. Keep the pie chilled until ready to serve for a cool and delightful dessert.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese and Cool Whip are properly softened and thawed for the best texture.
  • Chill the pie for at least 4 hours, but refrigerating overnight can improve flavor and firmness.
  • You can substitute the black cherry Kool-Aid mix with another flavor of your choice for different variations.
  • For an extra touch, consider adding some crushed graham crackers on top before garnishing.
  • Leftovers should be stored covered in the refrigerator and consumed within 3-4 days.
