Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with oil or nonstick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season them evenly on both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. Make Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and garlic powder until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  4. Assemble Dish: Lay the seasoned chicken breasts in a single layer inside the greased baking dish. Pour the bang bang sauce evenly over the chicken, spreading it to cover each piece.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) ensuring it is fully cooked and juicy.
  6. Optional Broil: For a caramelized and slightly crispy top, broil the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes at the end of baking, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.
  7. Rest and Garnish: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to retain juices. Then sprinkle with chopped green onions and red pepper flakes if desired.
  8. Serve: Serve the bang bang chicken hot over steamed rice, alongside vegetables, or wrapped in lettuce leaves for a low-carb option.

Notes

  • You can adjust the heat by modifying the amount of sriracha and red pepper flakes to your taste.
  • Make sure to use a food thermometer to check chicken doneness for food safety.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a lighter version, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
