Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Coating

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into tenders
  • 3 cups cornflakes, crushed into small pieces

Egg Mixture

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

Other

  • Cooking spray or oil (for air frying basket)
  • Store-bought hot honey (for drizzling and dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Egg Mixture & Cornflake Coating: In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and onion powder until well combined. Place crushed cornflakes in a separate shallow dish.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Dip each chicken tender into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated, then roll it in the crushed cornflakes, pressing gently so the coating adheres well.
  4. Place in Air Fryer Basket: Arrange the coated chicken tenders in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow even cooking.
  5. Cook the Chicken: Air fry the chicken tenders at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Cook until they are crispy, golden brown, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Serve with Hot Honey: Drizzle store-bought hot honey over the cooked chicken tenders or serve it on the side for dipping to add a sweet and spicy flavor.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, spray a light coat of cooking spray on the coated chicken tenders before air frying.
  • Ensure chicken pieces are similar in size for even cooking.
  • If you prefer less spice, adjust the amount of hot honey or serve it on the side.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check doneness to avoid under or overcooking.
  • Leftover chicken tenders can be reheated in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
